Book excerpt: At least once in life, influenced by a book we have just read or a movie we have just seen, each of us has dreamt of being projected in a fabulous world by simply crossing a “mysterious” threshold, as for instance the surface of an old mirror, maybe covered with opaque signs of time. Well, those who visit Sardinia at a slow pace, taking long walks, will find themselves, without passing through any mirror, as by magic, surrounded by an enchanted world where the harsh and wild nature makes us feel ancestral emotions. And that is what happens to Fish, the Nuragic boy with long braids, in this new adventure in search of a mysterious treasure and maybe of his identity, with the aid of his bearded friend Flam and of his grandfather Siso under false pretenses. Talking about traditions, have you ever wondered what is the origin of the age-old and sometimes dark characters, such as the Mamuthones, the Thurpos, S’Urthu and many more, who still liven up the Sardinian carnivals?! They come from the cult of Dionysus, the god Bacchus for the ancient Romans, widespread in Sardinia and in the Mediterranean in ancient times, which initially entered the island when Nuragic people came into contact with Minoans first and Mycenaean later. As for the “maze” mentioned in the title… I invite you to spend a pleasant time reading this book!
